Mollie always enjoyed, her summer holiday visits to her grandparent’s farm. There were always fun things to do. Actually everything about those visits was memorable. During those visits, time spent was quality time. And those memories continue to fill my heart with warmth and cheer. Someone was always stopping by for a visit. And grandma always had time for them, she always had something to share.
I learned a lot from her. Grandma was like a walking encyclopedia. But, her pride of place was in her kitchen. Here it was, where she prepared delicious meals, with much of the ingredients produced on the farm.
Another exciting item on my Grandparents’ summer calendar, was their Summer Dinner. It was huge. I remember making many life long friends, as all the neighbours were invited.
Come now, and let us reason together, saith The Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Isaiah 1:18
The variety of delicious food and copious amounts of puddings, taste always lingered for many days. However the spectacle of the summer dinner, were two sets of tea for two. They were purchased by my grandfather who was in the military and took centre stage. In 1950, he journeyed to the UK, where the two, ‘ Crocus ‘ tea sets for two by Claris Cliff, were purchased.
Since I have inherited them, it gives me great joy to share the story. And, I am always careful to include, who purchased them, when they were purchased and where they were purchased.
Blessed is the nation whose God is The Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for His Own inheritance.
Psalms 33:12
God’s Grace Through Inheritance in Jesus is, In The Lord
He is Our Creator
He is Our Sustainer
He is Our Redeemer.
