All Mare’ spoke about was the upcoming ‘Trinidad and Tobago Reunion’. Everyone from that country, residing in the UK, was expected to attend. Included, in this group were individuals with relational attachment to T&T.
One week before the event, the weatherman forecasted, freezing temperatures and wind chills. Adverse weather conditions were now factored in. This variable, is capable of putting a damper on the celebrations.
The day is Thine, the night also is Thine: Thou hast prepared the light and the sun
Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: Thou hast made summer and winter
Psalms 74:16-17
Stepping out of their house, Mare’ exclaimed,
” The weatherman was good for today’s forecast. The temperature, is indeed freezing and what a chilly wind. I have been dreading this”, voicing her dismay.
Another weather phenomenon which was impacting the day, was the presence of fog. The journey which initially took two hours now lasted three. As visibility is less than 180 meters ahead, when it is foggy.
Fire and hail: snow and fog; stormy wind fulfilling His Word.
Psalms 148:8
The journey however, was pleasant. Parking close to the venue, for a modest fee gave them a boost.
The inclement weather, had not impacted attendance, meeting and greeting was happening all around.
Suddenly, Mare’ felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning around, to see what was happening, there stood, Danni her friend.
Excitedly, both exclaimed, ” You haven’t aged one day!”.
Their meeting , after so many years, was emotional. So much laughter and catching up to do. However it was favourable, when they were finished, both left with a feeling of beatitude.
This is the day that The Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalms 118:24
